Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a significant vascular condition that poses substantial risks to patient health, characterized by the abnormal dilation of the abdominal aorta, the largest artery in the body. This dilation occurs when the weakened aortic wall becomes unable to withstand the normal pressures exerted by blood flow, leading to potential rupture or dissection. AAA often remains asymptomatic in its early stages, making early detection challenging and contributing to its status as a silent killer. As the aneurysm progresses, it may cause a variety of symptoms, ranging from vague abdominal discomfort to severe back pain, and potentially culminate in life-threatening circumstances if the aneurysm ruptures.
