󰊱 Replication Forks
1. DNA 는 DNA-directed DNA polymerases와 같은 알려진 enzymes에 의해
replicated 된다
① templates로 single-stranded DNA 사용
② 적절한 deoxynucleoside triphosphates(dNTP) 로부터 complementary strand 의 합성이 촉진되어진다.
③ 새로이 생성되는 nucleotides 는 selected by their ability to form Watson-Crick base pairs with the template DNA, 그래서 새로이 synthesized DNA strand 는 template strand와 double helix를 형성한다
④ 알고 있는 거의 모든 DNA polymerases는 nucleoside triphosphate에 의해 base paired polynucleotide의 free 3`-OH group에만 nucleotide를 첨가시킬 수 있다.
그래서 DNA chains 은 5`→ 3` direction으로만 extended 된다.
