a) distribution of antibody :
(1) cytoplasmic membrane of B cells which synthesize antibody
(2) plasma of blood and interstitial fluid of tissue
- found in the gamma globulin, immunoglobulin(Ig)
(3) surface of mononuclear phagocytes, NK cells, and mast cells which do not synthesize antibody but have specific receptors for antibody
(4) secretory fluids such as mucus and milk
b) purification
- two step : precipitation using salt (ammonium sulfate) and chromatography
